The ultimate priority within my work is to please
the audience.
I try not to antagonise, to upset, or to repel.
My aim is to please.
Keeping things this straight forward, I can then
concentrate on the process of painting.
Aesthetic concerns are paramount to the way I view
art, and how I want people to view my art. To cut
through the acres of presumption, assumption and double
meaning. Thus ultimately compelling the viewer, not
with any notion I am trying to relate, but rather
with an instant hit. A ready emotional response unencumbered
by unavailable information.
Since leaving University, I haven’t had many
shows. My work has been kept going by private commissions.
I feel now that I want to enter the realms of the
gallery exhibition much more.
