When Alan first started painting, 10 years ago, he started using watercolours but quickly changed to oil paints. He finds the colours and blends of colours work better for him.
Peter is a leisure painter and has been painting in oils for the last 5 years or so. His work is painted either on canvas or Gesso prepared boards. Peter usually works in an “alla prima” style and likes to use brushes pallet knives and fingers!!

After a varied career which has included, sales, catering and a stint in the army Mark has decided to return to his first ambition which was always art. Mark has drawn and painted for most of his life. All his work is currently waterr based acrylics on canvas.

Jackie generally paints with watercolours, enjoying their subtlety and pastels loving the vibrancy (and the messy fingers!). Jackie's style depends very much on the subject matter and the medium. Watercolour portraits have tended to be fairly representational whereas their pastel equivalent a little more impressionistic.

Paul is a photographer specializing in traditional large format black and white photography. Paul's work is based around an idea of decay and reclamation. These pictures shown here are tiny fragments and details from walls covered in graffiti or worn advertisements.

When painting portraits David tries to create a striking unique image of the sitter both physically and psychologically. Trying to capture human emotion frozen in time. He also produces contemporary almost dream-like images from experiences and references. David generally works from photographs as he feels this is a good way to instantly capture the sitters emotion.

Keith began painting in the 1970’s and sold my first picture at that time as a self-taught artist. Although Keith occasionally focuses on other subject matter and the different challenges they present, his principle passions are for landscape, seascape and waterscape, and the interpretation of nature has always been a fundamental motivating factor for him.
Jo is a Graphic Designer and Illustrator who is inspired by sunny days and loud music. Using a combination of photography, hand rendering with pencil, charcoals and inks, and digital manipulation she likes to create images that are bursting with life and energy.
Peter has been a professional artist for the last 30 years, working in the publishing and design world. Peter has always drawn the female figure in his working life, and now he is expressing this form in a new way. Peter likes to hint at the form of the figure within the picture to give the viewer a sense of life and movement, sometimes using the inspiration of dance.
Terry studied art and design for many years and has a HND in design and illustration. He tends to work more with traditional media ie. Acrylics, gouache, pen and ink.
In 2003 Rob had his work selected for the Pitching's Art festival where it was highly commended, he was invited to become a full member of the British Watercolour Society in 2004 and at the summer exhibition 2005 was elected to of Fellow of the International Guild of Artists. This he regards as a great achievement as you are elected by your fellow artists on the quality of your paintings.
Julian is an amateur artist who has always painted sporadically, however, when he retired some years ago he took up painting more seriously. Inspired by the American artist Georgia O’Keefe, Julian painted flowers, helped perhaps by the fact that he had a garden full of them!

Clive's work at the moment uses African animals in the designs…Designs being an appropriate word because they look more like textile designs or industrial images…Clive likes the order and balance that design can bring to a painting…
He uses acrylic paints on box canvas… painting round the edges so you can hang them straight out of the box…no frames required…

Self taught apart from a few correspondence and residential courses, Lesley has been painting as an absorbing pastime for 16 years. Over this time Lesley has developed an interest in botanical painting and animal studies, particularly horses, for which she will happily take commissions.
Adrian has been painting for most of his life however he has only turned to working as a full time artist for the last three years or so. Adrian has worked in many different mediums and styles during his career, he is currently working in acrylics and has been for the last year or so. As for most Artists Adrian's style and the way his style evolves is the most important factor in his work. Adrian uses a palette knife to paint which has helped him greatly in the creation of his very unique and original painting style.
Anne is a 'Sunday painter' without formal training who enjoys painting tremendously. Anne would have used my artistic abilities much more but for the restrictions of available funds. Most of her work is on the walls of family and friends. Now she would like to widen her horizons.
After leaving university with a degree in illustration, nearly a decade ago Simons work has become more abstract which he feels allows him great freedom in his work. Simon begins his work with no preconceived ideas of what he is going to paint, this results in work that is spontaneous, organic and totally original.
