I have been living and teaching in
Jersey since 1976; most of my painting was done in
my free time between work and raising my three children.
Much of my early work was fantasy, having been inspired
by reading Tolkein.
I have also illustrated several books, including a
re-print of Lillie Langtry's Autobiography; this resulted
in a small exhibition at the local Art Centre.
In 2001 I was hit with ME and had to retire from teaching.
This has been a blessing in that last year I found
myself well enough to return to my artwork on a daily
basis, concentrating mainly on a number of landscapes
gleaned from trips to Italy, where much of my inspiration
comes from. At present, I am working on a series of
Jersey landscapes.
Equally, I am a portrait artist and am happy to take
on commissions.
