My interest in photography began
in my early teens with the construction of various
pin-hole cameras, home made enlarges and Black &
White printing processes performed in the family bathroom
that left my sisters wondering what chemicals they
had washed their hair with!
I graduated from Aberystwyth University in 1981 and
worked for British Antarctica Survey studying the
ionosphere for two years at their most southerly base
Halley Bay. During my time in Antarctica, I photographed
many atmospheric phenomena including the elusive ‘green
flash’. These photographs were later published
in ‘Weather’ Magazine (May 1987) and also
won the Royal Meteorological Society photographic
competition for that year. Since then I have travelled
extensively throughout the world and developed a keen
interest in Landscape photography.
I make frequent walking trips to the Lake District,
the Peak District and North Wales, all of which, provide
ample opportunity to reflect the local landscapes
in my photographs.
