David was born and raised in the
beautiful Devon countryside, an inspiration to any
budding artist where after his formal education in
Teignmouth he studied Graphics and 3D Design at Exeter
College. After successfully completing his A levels
at college he gained a place at Brunel University
studying 3D metalwork in which he achieved a first.
On leaving Brunel University he successfully set up
his own company designing, making and selling his
dramatic and distinctive styles of eye ware. He had
great initial success with his leading edge designs
featuring at top exhibitions, galleries and selected
retail outlets both in the UK and abroad. Later to
promote his designs David also studied the basics
of web design and decided this was the way to diversify
and expand upon his quite considerable artistic talent.
In recent years he had moved to live and work in Glasgow
the cultural capital of Scotland, following in the
tradition of the design greats like Mackintosh. This
has brought to the fore his interest in statement
art as a dramatic focal point to quality interior
designs for both home and business. Working under
the name of Isopod Design, his dramatic almost ‘retro’
interpretation of his subjects is a unique style he
has made his own. His careful use of monochrome and
tonal colours creates an arresting image so right
for today’s modern interiors.
All paintings are created in acrylic on hand made
box frame canvases which are very sturdy. A top coat
of clear satin varnish is applied to protect the work.
They are stapled on the inside and professionally
finished to a very high standard.
Although the paintings are priced at set sizes, the
dimensions and colours can be tailor made to your
requirements, just email
if you would like something commissioned.
If you require paintings to be sent to you by post
then it's not a problem. With the use of Parcel Force
at a cost of £12, your paintings can be sent
to you anywhere in the UK. They are securely packaged
in bubble wrap and then an outer layer of hardboard
so as to avoid any damage occurring.
