Previously a landscape painter of the Lakeland Fells of Cumbria, he has now found inspiration from the creativity of a colour flow technique in abstract form. He produces a wide range of abstract styles with blending shapes, soft colours and bold colours. All of his paintings are tactile, some with a smooth touch, some lightly textured and some heavily textured in their finish, adding an extra dimesion to his work.
Matthew is fascinated by the process of extracting the essence from a scene, abstracting it slightly from the reality to enhance its impact. Mainly painted on location initially, sometimes reworked in the studio, at the moment he works almost entirely in water borne media; watercolour, pen and ink, acrylic, water soluble pencil, etc.
Colin's work explores beauty and horror in modern life and in the worlds of his imagination, using Colour, Light and Movement to create illusion and discussion for the viewer.
Kevin Franklyn Kevin is a self-taught artist. As such he has developed his skills by learning from other artists and by visiting Art Galleries and Exhibitions which have also helped in his understanding the history of Art. Impressionism is a one of Kevin's favourite forms of art work as is Turners.
Maria Rodina Maria Rodina, who lives in Scotland at the moment, was born and educated in Tallinn (Estonia). Her work is mostly abstract, she interperts the surrounding world according to her vision attempting to create unique combination of shapes and colours.
Dennis Davis Dennis Davis, former art teacher & semi-retired photographer, lives in Devon where he enjoys painting, mainly in watercolour, but with occasional ventures into oils & pastels.
