Jan lee Johnson has been painting for thirty years.
After graduating from art college she was employed
as an artist and designer by BBC TV in London for
some years and subsequently was freelance in TV and
films. She worked for a while as a court artist providing
character sketches in courtroom settings for Televsion
News in the Westcountry, where she now lives.
Her recent paintings embrace portraits and still life,
and subjects from nature. The surface of the paintings
are richly coloured layers of textured paint, built
up gradually with acrylics. Jan has exhibited in London
and the Westcountry, where she is a lecturer at Plymouth
College of Art.
