Jonathan discovered his artistic talents at an early
age. Throughout a period spanning more than fifty
years he has developed and diversified his skills
to cover many mediums including sculpture, poetry
and composing music. His extensive travels have influenced
his works, which range from landscapes to portraits
and a broad range of animal studies. He based himself
in Christchurch for many years where he became a well-known
personality, exhibiting his works in an old mill under
the name Jonathan leah. He has now retired and returned
to his native Lincolnshire where he continues to create
works of art in rural surroundings.
Some of his more unique works include Pyrography
(wood burning or poker work) on a colossal scale,
his ambition being to eventually produce life size
images of some of the giants of Africa. Some of these
works have taken as long as five months to complete
and have never been offered for sale until now.
Jonathan, influenced by the summer of 2005 has most
recently produced many studies of sunflowers and dahlias
in acrylics.
