I am an amateur artist who has always painted sporadically,
however, when I retired some years ago I took up painting
more seriously. Inspired by the American artist Georgia
O’Keefe, I painted flowers, helped perhaps by
the fact that we had a garden full of them! I certainly
did not want to paint posies or vases full or even
groups of growing flowers. I was fascinated by the
close-up views of individual blossoms, florets or
even smaller parts of these. I wanted viewers to see
into flowers themselves.
My work is equally divided between acrylic and oil
paints. In addition to this topic enjoy marine pictures
as well as reflections from surfaces such as water,
and the beautiful distortions that these convey.
