I was born in Yorkshire England.
I spent many years living and working in Scotland
where my paintings were exhibited in Glasgow and Dundee
galleries. I moved to Devon in 1996 and my work has
been shown at most of the South West of England galleries.
I am a great admirer of the Post
Impressionists and Fauves together with modern artists
such as Frank Auberbach, John L Morrison, Alan Cotton,
George Rowlett and Arthur Madison. All of these artists
have had a great influence on my work. My passionate
love of colour is shown in the dramatic and emotional
interpretation of my subjects when using oil and watercolour.
Recently I have been using an impasto
technique with palette knife when painting some landscapes,portraits
and still life subjects.
