Kristi is a self-trained artist living in Pontypridd,
Wales. She has been painting as a hobby since childhood,
when her early interests in the natural world led
her into sketching and sculpture. In recent years
she has moved into painting almost exclusively in
oils.
Kristi's interest in wildlife art
has recently led her into working in Chroma acrylics
for some wildlife subjects. In addition to painting,
she sculpts in ceramics and makes traditional handmade
books using Western and Japanese bookbinding techniques.
Her subjects include wildlife, the
ancient monuments and landscapes of Wales, and images
inspired by symbolism. She is currently working on
a series of paintings of Neolithic and Bronze age
monuments, ranging from standing stones and stone
circles to 4,000 year old burial chambers. She is
fascinated by the human need for mystery and myth,
and the way people of different cultures have interpreted
and imposed meaning on the world around them.
Kristi accepts commissions, please
