I was born and raised on Merseyside. After marrying I moved to Bristol and Kent but am now back on Merseyside living on the coast.
Art has always played an important role in my life, starting with crayons and paper as a toddler, then watching my father doing his pen and ink sketches. I drew hundreds of portraits, birds and animals as a teenager but struggled with school art, not liking the thick paints and brushes. I was bought oil paints at 15 and enjoyed them until I discovered watercolours which I stayed using for many years.
About 6 years ago I watched Bob Ross and his technique of "liquid" oils really appealed to me. It gives me the fluidity and colour I like with the addition of being able to use small brushes for detail.
I have been a carer for my husband and 2 children for the past 18 years and my art takes me to another place where I can relax and the hours fly past. I paint what inspires me, whether it's a sunset or just swirling patterns. I like experimenting with different shaped canvases and use flowers, leaves, shells and even polyfilla to give the effect I want.
I have sold paintings in various places around the country and am now getting to grips with the World Wide Web.
Linda is also available for commissions.
