Hi, my name is Lyubov (Luba) Kimble, and I am from the Ukraine. I have lived in England for sixteen years and married my English husband nine years ago.
I worked in a film studio in the Ukraine, and worked in the cartoon department for twenty six years rising from a tea girl to teacher (when you make a cartoon you need ten thousand paintings for a ten minute cartoon). I was teaching for the last nine years of my working life, I suppose that is where my love of painting started.
When I left the film industry I did not paint again for about five years. I did a few ordinary paintings (roses and things) then started to do abstract art with brush and pallet knife, and liked it. I paint mainly in acrylic, but do some oils as well.
Every year at the August bank holiday weekend I exhibit at an open year exhibition for the three days and I sell paintings most years. In 2007 I sold five paintings in the last two hours of the exhibition and in 2008 I sold two paintings. I like to talk to people about my work.
In the last twelve months I have sold about eight paintings, just recently my husband hung many of my paintings in our hall and in the stairwell, it attracts a lot of comment from friends that visit us and there are now a few empty places after people bought some of the paintings!
