I trained at Goldsmiths College, University of London,
graduating in 1993 and have exhibited work in London,
Edinburgh, Leeds, and the Channel Isles.
These paintings focus on images
of the female form. The figures are cropped and therefore
anonymous, they do not gaze out at the viewer like
traditional nudes. They are peaceful, calm and dignified
images of ordinary women. Although the paintings are
quite colourful, the figures are defined by their
tonal qualities as well as line. The way that light
and shade falls on the figures creates a solid, sculptural
feel to the work.
