As an artist living in Scotland I
am never far from beautiful scenery to provide inspiration.
I work from sketches and photographs taken on travels
in the west coast and far north of Scotland and on
European trips.
I try to capture the beauty and
atmosphere of a place at a moment in time. Recent
work has focused on the many empty croft houses in
the landscapes of Sutherland, and a series of seascapes
attempts to portray the ever-changing light and colours
of the many beautiful sea lochs and coastal areas
of Scotland.
I am interested in architecture and
the built environment, and my native city of Glasgow,
and other European
cities, particularly Venice, provide me with endless
inspiration.
I work in a variety of media, including
watercolour, pastel, and I am currently trying to
master acrylic.
