At the age of sixteen, Peter was recognised as being visually gifted and was awarded a scholarship to study graphics and printmaking at Hornsey College of Art, in 1964. After completing this course he was invited to study painting and drawing for an additional two years at another London College, Byam Shaw School of Art before entering the world of commercial art and design where he worked as a freelance designer and illustrator; until moving to Devon. Shortly afterwards he trained as an art teacher at Bath College of Higher Education and then gained his B.Ed, hon. (Art) at Bristol University.
Now retired from teaching/tutoring, Peter is presently engaged on his own artwork concentrating on figurative studies and maritime themes, painting and drawing in all media. He exhibits his work in several West Country Galleries/websites and has paintings and drawings in numerous private collections in the U.K. and abroad, representing a lifetime's work.
