Having had no formal art training,
but having had a working life in building, I have
a great love of structures and their settings. Now
living on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, I am inspired
to try my hand at pastel and pen and ink work. In
1999, I gained a 'highly commended certificate for
a pen and ink drawing in the SAA Artist and Young
Artist of the Year competition, and similarly in 2000
in the Patchings Open Competition organised by the
Artist and Leisure Painter magazines.
