A self-taught photographer, I’ve been taking photos for as long as I can remember. After quitting a catering career when I realised I really hated it, I have now decided to concentrate on my first love of photography.
I also love the sea, and most of the pictures I take have water in them somewhere. During the 80s and 90s I moonlighted as a freelance marine photographer, my pictures appearing in many yachting magazines.
5 years ago I was getting a bit bored with ‘straight’ photos when I was introduced to Photoshop and I now apply its capabilities and other manipulation software to my pictures.
I live on the Isle of Wight and the bulk of the marine images were taken on and around the Solent, some recently, some as long as 20+ years ago. The digitally manipulated images are less about detail, more about colour, shape and form. I have never been able to paint or draw in the traditional manner, so I now use computer software to reproduce the effect. Cheating? I would be interested to hear opinions.
Each picture is limited to a print run of only 250, each one signed and numbered. They are printed on acid-free satin paper with pigment inks.
