Up to four years ago I worked on a Sussex Downland
farm for thirty-three years that is before having
to give up work through injury and other health problems.
Prior to this I was in horticulture and landscape
gardening for 10 years. I wish I could have taken
photographs of all those scenes and incidents I used
to see most days but on farm pay that was a non-starter.
The photographs that I have taken over the years were
mostly for archaeological and history interest.
It is only in the last year that I have taken up more
photography, mainly to record things that I came across
on my exercise walks. I like to take pictures of flora,
fauna, still life and any thing interesting using
a Fuji S7000 digital camera and I also do computer
drawn abstracts. I am also a member of our local History
Society, an amateur archeologist for over 40 years
and during this year have been processing hundreds
old glass lantern slides on to computer and digitally
repairing the computer images. On top of all this
I collect stamps & postal history and have disposed
of much of on ebay, the only way I could finance replacement
computer and printers, the camera being a Christmas
present. I am also doing a study on the ordinary postal
cancels of Bohemia and Moravia.
