I was born in Peru and brought up
in Japan since I was 11. I guess both cultures have
influenced my work to some point. I started to draw
and painting when I was 15. I never went to an art
school, just followed my instincts and copied Monet,
Renoir, Paul Gauguin for a while.
I have to say I was a bit obssesed
with the age of impressionism. However in the last
few years I have been trying to produce my own work,
search for my individuality, of course this is still
in working process. I am attenting a life drawing
course at the moment. I usually get inspired by the
people I know, I want to express my feelings through
portraits, figurative paintings, through their expressions.
