I am located in Yorkshire, close to Derbyshire &
the beautiful Peak District National Park. I lived
in London for about six years before returning to
Yorkshire. Whilst living in London I studied art at
Goldsmiths College.
My work is inspired by just about anything and everything.
I paint in both representational and abstract styles.
I love abstract painting because it frees the imagination
of both the artist and the spectator. In my semi-abstract/
representational work I explore symbolism.
My favourite materials are acrylic, oil and mixed
media/collage on canvas. I experiment with the effects
of combining colours and textures. I often use real
fossils, gemstones and collage materials in my paintings.
I aim to create art work that is both beautiful and
interesting.
My painting technique is ‘experimental’;
constantly changing/adding to my repertoire of techniques
to achieve my own personal recognisable styles.
