Supriya Kosinska is a young Latvian artist who got her art education in Newcastle college. Her mane inspiration for her art works is spirituality, different religions, faith, meditation, life and death. She spends lots of time in Nepal and India for traveling and meditation. Last year she was interested in Tibetan Tangka painting, so she had a painting course in Nepal with Tibetan Lama in monastery. Thangka painting is a uniquely Tibetan tradition that evolved between the 7th and 12th centuries. Its origins lay in Indian religious art, but Nepalese, Chinese and Kashmiri styles also influenced its development.Thangka is more than just a work of art. It is an object of devotion, an aid to spiritual practice, and a bringer of blessings.
But in the same time she love to express heself on a canvas in absolutely different styles like landscapes, abstract and self-portaits."Painting is my meditation...sometimes I feel that I completely disappear, just a brush remains... you can plan what you are going to do on a canvas, but canvas is a mystery, so you just have to let it go and you'll be surprise yourself." says Supriya about her art." I love any kind of painting. I love to experiment with different styles and techniques. The process for me is more important then achievement...Painting is my inner search, the way of being.."
