I am a self taught artist working
in oil and watercolour, primarily painting landscape
scenes. I am attracted to a certain place or scene
through atmosphere and light or the portrayal of depth
and distance through perspective. An interesting play
of light can make a drastic impression upon a landscape,
and I love the challenge of getting this across to
the viewer. Much of my inspiration comes from the
Peak District.
The floral work I produce focuses on the delicacy
portrayed in flowers; the fragility. The paint is
used loosely to get this impression across.
