I am based in south east London. I have been painting
all my life, it has helped my through some very turbulent
times, and after much nagging from friends and family,
I finally went professional! so here I am.
I studied art and design in England and in Canada,
also architecture at Greenwich university, but decided
that working on site would be rather tricky with my
artificial leg. I lost my leg in a motor bike accident
when I was twenty, so being an architect was out.
I do commercial drawings for buildings and also landscape
architecture, as it still remains one of my passions.
My work place is a converted air-raid shelter on
my garden, it is really quirky and a great place to
create, I feel very safe there.
I work in all media, but I particularly like to work
in acrylic on canvass. I like to be quite bold and
this allows me to be strong in my work. I love to
do huge pop art and portraits and to paint places
that I have visited and I have traveled extensively.
When I paint a portrait it is very intimate and the
landscapes are being revisited. So far I have played
it safe and done quite nice images, but I plan to
do a very dark collection to do with my childhood,
my accident and other stuff. It will be very cathartic,
but quite disturbing - I have a lot of subject matter
there. Anyway on a lighter note, enjoy my stuff!
