I studied at the Norwich School of Art & Design
and started painting professionally in 1996 with a
string of commission from Gibson Greetings & The
Medici Society. The same year my work was featured
in Sue Burton’s Publication ’Encyclopedia
of Flower Painting Techniques’. I am now a successful
wildlife & botanical illustrator and have work
reproduced on cards & stationary world-wide.
My love of nature in particular flowers and birds
has had the most influence on my work. As well as
sketching at home I take photographs at local zoos
and wildlife sanctuaries and sketch & photograph
in the local countryside around my home. This reference
material I then use in my studio to create my colourful
paintings.
I paint flowers and still life directly from nature
often using plants from my own gardens. My still life’s
are set up in the studio and feature contemporary
vases, blue & white china, crystal and lace. My
preferred mediums are watercolours and oil on canvas.
If you are interested in commissioning a painting,
please e-mail
for further details and price list. I consider
most subjects including portraits, pets, wild animals
and houses.
